The objective of BIGOSA is to enhance the quality of breast healthcare in Southern Africa. It delivers on this objective by:
- Encouraging a sub-specialty of “Breast Surgery” within General Surgery and Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery.
- Advising governmental and non-governmental organisations on breast health matters and policy.
- Liaising with other organisations in the field on a national and global level.
- Advancing the interests of its members.
